Aaron is a Singapore ceramic artist.  He started dabbling with clay in 1986 when he was studying Art at then St Patrick's Art Centre.   Although He entered the College with a keen interest to study Interior Design, the chanced exposure to pottery-making during the Foundation Course (Year 1) started his life-long love affair with ceramics.  He was later engaged as Teaching Assistant during the Ceramics Class lessons to help lecturer/ Potter Lim Meng Khuang while still completing his Diploma in Fine Arts at the College.


He received the prestigious EDB-Lasalle INTECH Grant in 1989 with the recommendation of the late Sculptor/ Artist Brother Joseph McNally, then Director of The Art College, to pursue his undergraduate studies in the School of Design (Ceramics), Staffordshire Polytechnic (now known as Staffordshire University), -a highly regarded institution in the field of Ceramics at Stoke-on-Trent in the United Kingdom.

Upon completing his degree studies in 1991, he returned to Singapore to head the Ceramics Department of the College.  The school by then had been renamed LaSalle-SIA College of The Arts.  He facilitated the Ceramics Program from Foundation Studies right through to the Specialization levels where students majored in this field of study.  He left LaSalle in 1996 to pursue professional development as an independent artist.  Nevertheless he continued to teach pottery-making and taught at The American School, Crescent Girls School and various other local schools and institutions including a stint where he taught the Ceramics Class as part-time lecturer at the NIE, Nanyang Technological University between 1997 and 2001.  He helped Character Montessori integrate handbuilding into their Creative Arts program in 2006.

He is currently engaged in his professional practice with commission orders and work on his own exhibitions.  He works from his art studio in Woodlands, Singapore.

ABOUT

Aaron is the founder of Spark Ceramic Art Consultants Pte Ltd (SCAC), a registered education service provider which runs professional art programs in its studio, at schools and for corporate organizations etc e.g.:- KidzClay for Character Montessori (ongoing since 2007), P5 and P6 Art Program in Jurong Primary School (2007-2010), Pottery Making at various Primary/Secondary school Art Clubs, Dragon Kiln Tours, Ceramics Workshop and other School holiday programs. 

Established since 2007, he was the executive director until 2013.  He trained artists for operations at SCAC and worked extensively with teachers at various levels to bring ceramic art to local schools.​​​​
